Pecan pie

We are so thankful for our year as innkeepers that we wanted to share a slice of our kitchen with you!

Pecan Pie has always been a staple on our Thanksgiving dessert table. Whether you add a drizzle of chocolate, homemade whipped cream, or a glass of yummy wine with your slice be sure to be extra thankful this year.

1 unbaked 9" pie crust
¾ cup sugar (5.25 oz)
½ cup real maple syrup (5.5 oz)
½ cup corn syrup (5.75 oz)
2 tablespoons bourbon
½ teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons butter (2 oz)
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Zest of one orange
2 cups pecans, roughly chopped

1. In a saucepan combine sugar, maple syrup, corn syrup, bourbon, and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Boil 1 minute. Remove from heat.
2. Add butter, stirring until melted. Allow to cool slightly.
3. Once cooled, whisk in eggs, vanilla, and orange zest. Stir in pecans.
4. Pour filling into pie shell and bake in 350 degree oven for 50-55 minutes, or until top is lightly browned and filling is set. Allow to cool completely. Slice & Enjoy!
